Passing Your Driving Test

Driving is something that I enjoy, as long as I am looking forward to the destination. I’m not always thrilled, but I certainly don’t loathe it. Most that say they don’t like it either have to drive a lot, or they are just not comfortable behind the wheel of a car or truck. Most get used to driving after they first learn, and it does become more a joy. I didn’t start driving until I was in my late twenties, and that made it a bit scarier the day I went to take my driving test. This was the only time in my entire life when I failed a test, and I knew it was because of nerves and rushing the process.

I never took my driving test in high school like my classmates because neither of my parents thought I was ready to drive. That was fine, but I didn’t realize it would take me so long to get a license. I lived in urban Pittsburgh for a while, and never really had the need to drive. I used public transportation, and my husband drove us other places. Once we moved away to a more rural area, it became apparent very quickly that I would have to go out and take my driving test.

Teenagers are a bit more reckless, and that means they are eager to drive and not quite as scared of a car as they should be. Because I was 28 before I was taking my driver’s test, I was a bit more reserved than I was as a teenager, and I was - quite frankly - scared out of my mind. In order to work, however, I had to pass my driving test rather quickly. This was something that I hope most don’t have to do, because you really do need to take your time to be sure you know what you are doing and that you are comfortable behind the wheel.

If you have trouble passing your driving test, you need more time, and perhaps some more study. The written part is just as important as the driving part of the test. Both require you to take things seriously. Find out more about your driving test, and then practice what you need to know. Don’t forget about the other stuff, however, as all driving rules and skills are important. If you fail the test of your driving skills, don’t worry, you can always take it again. Just take some time to get better before your next attempt and you should have no problems.
Summary
Passing your driving test requires study of written rules and traffic law as well as physically being able to operate a motor vehicle safely. If you fail the first time, study some more, practice more, and you'll be better prepared for the next time you schedule your test.
